About Me
I have been practising Traditional Acupuncture for 30 years. I am a member of the Association of Acupuncuture Clinicians (AAC) and a past member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). I have studied extensively in the UK and have also studied in China.Specialist Skills
My extensive training includes a wide range of specialist acupuncture courses in woman's health and fertility, as well as clinical experience in both outpatient and inpatient hospital settings. I was also a faculty member at one of London's foremost acupuncture colleges, teaching both the theory and practice of Chinese Medicine and now teach on the Supervision and Mentoring course. I provide supervision and mentoring to acupuncture collegues from all over Britain.
Having worked in several different facilities including clinics in the West End, Notting Hill and Waterloo, as well as a number of specialist health clinics, I now have a practice in Clapham, South West London where I have been for the last 25 years.
Extensive Training
My acupuncture expertise is supported by a life long interest and study of various healing practices, including many different types of meditation, Tai Qi, Yoga and Qi Gong, as well as more traditional counselling techniques such as NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).
International Experience
I have lived and travelled in many countries around the world, including the United States, where I did my undergraduate degree, China, Thailand and Kenya. My international upbringing has taught me, among other things, to bring a wide perspective to my work.
Why People Come
People come to me for acupuncture for a very wide range of reasons from asthma to arthritis, back pain to bronchitis, infertility to insomnia and migraine to menopausal symptoms, to name just a few.
Feel Better All Over
My interest is not just the alleviation of the symptom that the patient first presents with, but also an improvement in their overall well being, vitality and self knowledge.
Strength During Change
I am particularly interested in the use of acupuncture to facilitate transition through life's major gateways. Times of great challenge such as IVF or infertility, recovery from cancer or other major illness or debilitating diseases such as clinical depression, can be seized as opportunities to create change and forge a new path in life.
Equally, puberty, pregnancy and the menopause are times when our body, mind and spirit are undergoing huge shifts. Acupuncture can be used to aid these transitions and ensure that we enter the next phase of life in a balanced and healthy way.
